What is The Leaf on The Tree?
The Leaf on the Tree is you. It’s me. It’s every one of us.
Each of your parents is a leaf on their own family tree. Together, they form a twig. Add yourself and your siblings, and suddenly that twig begins to grow into a branch.
Now the twig that once held only your parents’ leaves supports your own branch, with your children’s leaves sprouting from it—stretching further and further as the family grows.
Look deeper, past your parents, and you’ll find the trunk that connects to your grandparents, and then to their parents before them, forming the great tree of generations.
Here, I share the stories behind those leaves—the lives, struggles, and triumphs that make up our families.
Because in the end…
The Leaf on The Tree could be you or me!
About This Leaf on The Tree
I love uncovering history and giving forgotten lives a voice again. Over the years, I've built a family tree with more than 1,300 leaves and another with over 500, each branch filled with stories waiting to be told. Through old records, hidden details, and long-lost names, I bring the past back to life This blog is my way of sharing that joy--join me as we rediscovered the stories of those who should not be forgotten.
